Fooled by Randomness

Well, I have been reading this wonderful book called Fooled by Randomness off late. I was quite amazed by the fact that all the things mentioned in the book are experienced by most of them, yet we do not consciously realise them, but try to attribute most of the successes and failures to a series of events which already happened. What should one expect after putting thru a very strenuous and hard working year at work.... first question that comes to my mind is should we expect something or should nt we? If we start expecting something, are we justified in attributing the outcome( good or bad) at the end of the year to something which we have already done??? Should we just keep doing the best we can and just accept the random outcomes in our way?? We had an interesting session by Harsha Bhogle at my workplace couple of weeks ago.. He is very much practical in all that he spoke and was just amazed by the way he says "he shaped up" his career. His funda was straight forward, start enjoying the little things that come your way, while you try to do what you want to ............. it would be unfair on my part to completely attribute his success journey to the "randomness" but its very close to the philosophy..... That brings to some of the key questions ........ do each of us know "what are we good at?" .. if yes , do we know "what exactly we want to do in our lives?"..... again if yes, "how exactly can we go about achieving or doing what we want to?".... well, of all the people I met till date, atleast 80% of them do not have answers to all the questions, and of the remaining 20% I am very much sure that some of them are lucky fools who got lucky and think that, thats what they were born for .................being in a profession which deals with stock markets, I am often surprised how each of them who just became lucky pamper themselves to be the fortune tellers of the finance world!!!.................. Well, I shall leave this random post at this point and hopefully should be able to write more in these times of history being written.....
